Tips on cleaning the bathroom

The bathroom helps us keep clean. However, it collects an unhealthy amount of steam, grime, and water on its surfaces. The best way to keep your bathroom free of buildup is to thoroughly clean it once a week.

There are some areas that you can clean daily to improve the general appearance. Clear splatters and spills on the mirror, dry countertops and sinks, keep the faucet handles and toilet seat dry at all times.

How to clean specific areas

Tiles

To prevent yellow grime from building up on tile surfaces in the shower, give them a nice weekly scrub. Here is a good way of cleaning tiles.

  • Mix your kitchen cleaner with CLR fresh scent bath.
  • Cover your hands in rubber gloves, spread the formula on small areas and scrub them using a stiff brush.
  • Scrub the tiles thoroughly then rinse them.

Sink

Bathroom sinks love some grime and gunk from toothpaste and hair. Suffice to say that they are hotbeds of germs. Here’s how to clean the sink:

  • Use a bathroom cleaner such as Lysol or Clorox. Spray the cleaner all over the bowl then wipe using a sponge or clean cloth.
  • Don’t forget the faucet handles. You can wipe or clean them with the cleaning solution.

Toilet

You want your toilet bowl to look like new or even better. Your cleaning method needs to get rid of germs that collect around the seat. Follow these steps:

  • Apply a generous amount of toilet cleaner and leave it for ten minutes. Use a toilet brush with stiff bristles to scrub the bowl then flush when done.
  • Spray Lysol or Clorox on the seat and wipe the surface after a few minutes.
  • Spray the toilet brush with some disinfectant when you are done with the above steps.

The tub

Keep all grime, mold and mildew off the tub by cleaning it on a consistent basis

  • Mix your kitchen cleaner with some CLR bath and use it to clean the shower areas and the tub. Keep the windows and door open to let out the fumes. You may also want to turn the fan on if there is one.
  • If you need a superior scrub, get the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Bath. Its micro-scrubbers and unique foaming cleansers leaves the tub spotless. Wet a sponge and squeeze it to trigger the foam action. Scrub every nook and cranny till it is clean.

The floor

Clean the bathroom floor even before grime and dirt builds up. You don’t want to strip the floor of its shine, so stick to low-suds cleaners.

  • Spray the kitchen cleaner and CLR bath solution to the floor surface. To prevent buildup of fumes, open all windows and doors in the room.
  • If the grout fails to come off after using the cleaner, switch to a cleanser that contains bleach. A good cleanser is the Soft Scrub Gel. Use this to scrub any stubborn stains then rinse the floor and dry it.

We hope the above tricks and tips give your bathroom a refreshing kick.
